Casinacho Play

★★★★☆ 4.4 Editor rating

Casinacho Play caught us off guard. It looks like a light tap-and-go adventure at first, but there's a proper little world underneath, with side characters who remember what you did two chapters back. You roam between colorful districts, solve small environmental puzzles, and unlock new areas by helping people rather than grinding a bar.

Controls are the highlight for a phone. A single thumb handles movement and interaction, and the game never asks you to do fiddly gestures during an important moment. We played most sessions one-handed and never fought the interface. The map is generous with fast-travel points, which respects the fact that you're probably playing in ten-minute bursts.

The pacing does drift in the middle, where a few fetch tasks stack up before the story picks back up. Push through them and the last third is easily the best part. We'd recommend it to anyone who wants a cozy adventure with actual writing behind the charm.
